Meet Joshna

Joshna is in 8th grade, she has lived and studied at the Children of Faith Home in Visakhapatnam, India for the past 5 years. She came to the Home from poor family a remote rural town. Joshna’s village did not have a school. The opportunity to attend a school a distance from the town was available only for boys. It is common practice in her village for girls to marry at a young age. At COF she is thriving in school, loves learning and is getting excellent grades. Although Joshna is shy, she has blossomed since coming to COF, she is doing very well in school and hopes to become an English teacher. The staff at the home describe her as sweet and caring. She has been participating in the sewing lessons offered my visitors and is enjoying this creative outlet

A young girl is learning to sew at the Children of Faith Home in India

I'm glad I learned to sew Kurtis (Tunics) for myself. Dara the visiting teacher is so kind and patient. I will keep enjoying sewing. I have had so many opportunities since coming to COF, learning new things and making good friends.

— Joshna, 8th grade

It is a joy for us to watch the children grow over their time with us. Joshna has really blossomed into a bright, curious, caring young girl. I look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next

Help us continue to transform lives

We are transforming the lives of underprivileged children in India by providing a home and education for 120 children. We offer a needed stable home, medical care and an education that prepares our children for college and professional careers. This breaks the cycle of poverty, fills the children with confidence. One of the ways you can support this work is by sponsoring a child.
