Kitchen-Dining Hall Construction Continues

Construction is continuing on the new Kitchen-Dining Hall at the Children of Faith Home. This dining hall will provide needed facilities under one roof, storage, cooking, eating. The kids are amazed at big the new building will be.

In the coming days “plinth beams” will be added. These are reinforced concrete beams between the wall and its foundation. They will cure over 4 days as they are watered.

Our project is really taking shape thanks to everyone who donated at our 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Kitchen-Dining Hall Construction January 2025

One of the most fascinating things about watching the construction of the dining hall is realizing how different Indian construction practices are from those we see in America. The foundation has to be laid very deep in order for the building to survive the climate, and almost the entire building has to be built of concrete. The next step for the building is a big one- the next concrete layer has to sit for 21 days before they can continue on with construction. This ensures that this layer can hold the weight of the rest of the building.

Our improvements would not be possible without your support!

Your donations to our general fund make our Home successful. Our sponsors help us feed and clothe the children and provide tuition for college students, but we rely on donations to our general fund for the unexpected things that come along like maintenance, or plumbing repairs and more. We couldn’t keep transforming the lives of young people in India without these additional donations, please help us however you can.
