Every year on August 15, people throughout India come together to celebrate Independence Day—a special occasion that honors the nation’s freedom and the people who helped make that freedom possible.
At Children of Faith, Independence Day is also a wonderful opportunity for our children to celebrate their country, learn about its history, and reflect on what it means to be part of India’s future.
The day is filled with patriotic songs, flag-raising ceremonies, cultural programs, and activities at the Home. Our children proudly take part in the celebrations, often dressed in the colors of the Indian flag—saffron, white, and green. Their enthusiasm and joy make the day especially meaningful.
Independence Day also gives our teachers an opportunity to help the children understand the significance of August 15, 1947, when India gained independence from British rule. Through stories, songs, and classroom activities, the children learn about the sacrifices made by generations before them and about the responsibilities that come with freedom.

Looking Toward the Future
