Rosie and Anand Thandu will be celebrating the 25th Wedding Anniversary on April 25th this year. They were married in Visakhapatnam, India, in a park near the home where Anand grew up. The celebration was attended by 2400 people. The guests included their entire church congregation, family, neighbors and friends of the family. A week later another celebration at Rosie’s Grandfather’s home, in the state of Orissa, was attended by 500 more family and friends. Anand was living in the US at the time and he returned promptly back to California and his job there. A few days after these celebrations Rosie boarded an airplane for the first time to join Anand in California to begin their life together. They’ve shared many of the usual marriage milestones, buying a house and supporting one another thru graduate school, but founding and running a Children’s Home has been extraordinary. Since you’ve been on this journey with them, they wanted to make you a part of this Anniversary, here is a letter from them…
.Wow—25 years! It’s hard to believe that Anand and I have been married for a quarter of a century. It feels like just yesterday I was 18, standing next to him, entering into an arranged marriage—excited, nervous, and not really knowing what the Lord’s plan was for us. Time has flown, and as they say, if it goes fast, it must be going well!
Looking back, the word that best captures how we feel is GRATEFUL. We are incredibly thankful for the life God has given us together. He has united us not just in love, but in purpose. Through the highs and the lows, the laughter and the chaos, we’ve discovered that being one in Christ is the most beautiful foundation a marriage can have.
Of course, we’ve had our moments—yes, we drive each other crazy sometimes—but we laugh just as hard, and love even deeper. We have so much in common: our love for food, family, fun, our deep faith, and especially our shared passion for children. That love has fueled 20 years of ministry side by side, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Together, we’ve had the privilege of touching many lives, especially through our children’s home ministry. The joy of being surrounded by children’s laughter, the love of our community, and the shared dreams of creating something lasting and meaningful for generations—it’s been the greatest blessing.
We are beyond thankful for the beautiful community God has surrounded us with—not just in India, but also in the U.S., the UK, and in hearts across the world. Our family, friends, and prayer warriors have carried us, encouraged us, cheered us on, and helped shape the people we are today. The success of our 25 years of marriage is not ours alone—it belongs to every one of you who has walked with us, prayed for us, and believed in us.
As we look ahead, we surrender our lives once again into the hands of the One who brought us together. We believe with all our hearts that God’s plan is still unfolding, and we are ready for what’s next. May His will be done in our lives.
