Each year at Children of Faith, one of the most meaningful seasons is welcoming new children into our family. Behind every new face is a unique story—a story of hardship, uncertainty, and loss, but also one filled with hope for a brighter future.
For many of our newest children, arriving at the Home is their first experience of stability and security. Everything is unfamiliar: new friends, new routines, new caregivers, and a new place to call home. While it is an exciting beginning, we know it can also feel overwhelming.
That’s why helping each child adjust is one of our highest priorities.
From the moment they arrive, our staff, residence advisors, teachers, and older children work together to make every newcomer feel loved and accepted. The older children often become the best ambassadors of kindness, showing the younger ones where to eat, how to prepare for school, and inviting them to join games and activities. These friendships help ease fears and remind every child that they belong.
Daily routines provide comfort and consistency. Family-style meals, school, study time, play, chores, and evening devotions create a rhythm that helps children feel safe and secure. As trust grows, so does confidence.
We also take time to understand each child’s individual needs. Some children quickly embrace their new surroundings, while others need extra encouragement and patience as they process the changes in their lives. Our caregivers offer gentle guidance, listening ears, and plenty of hugs as children begin to heal emotionally and spiritually.
Most importantly, every child is reminded that they are deeply loved—not only by those who care for them each day, but by God. Through prayer, Bible stories, worship, and the example of compassionate adults, children discover they have immeasurable value and a future filled with hope.
It is always amazing to watch the transformation that takes place over the months. Shy children begin laughing with friends. Anxious faces become confident smiles. Children who once felt forgotten discover they are part of a family that believes in them and celebrates every milestone.
As we welcome another group of children into the Children of Faith family, we invite you to pray for them as they begin this new chapter. Pray that they will experience peace, build lasting friendships, succeed in school, and come to know the incredible love of Christ.
